Chilemonos

CHILEMONOS, is a multi – platform touring selection of Chilean animation, consisting of a selection of short films, feature films and television series depicting the recent history of animation in Chile. It includes a character – design exposition, a catalog with interviews from Chilean animation filmmakers, a documentary film on the recent history of Chilean animation, and a presentation about the current state of the animation in Chile.

CHILEMONOS is a concept developed by Spondylus that aims to be a contribution to presence of Chilean animation worldwide, giving exposure in the most prestigious animation festivals the the latest animation work.

Erwing Gómez Viñales – bio

ERWIN GÓMEZ VIÑALES, better known in Chile as Wilo, studied design at the Catholic University of Chile. Has been dedicated to animated films and advertising. Animation teacher at several universities. It has produced five short films (Lords of Sipán, Rokunga, S.11, Cóndor), two animated series for television (Patagonia, Pachapulai) and is now working in her first feature film project called “Cold War”.

Margarita Cid Lizondo – bio

Margarita Cid | Spondylus Productions Associate Director, General Production – Art Direction. Designer of the Catholic University of Chile. She has served as a lecturer at numerous universities in Chile. Design Excellence Award National Biennal, Visual Communication class professional project. In 1998 she founded SPONDYLUS PRODUCTIONS where generated content around our intangible heritage. During his career at several exhibitions and conferences in Chile, France, Italy and Cuba.

Tomás Welss – bio
TOMÁS WELSS: Graduated from the School of Arts at the University of Santiago de Chile in 1984, and as animator from the the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany. Between 1986 and 2003 has done seven short films (El paraguas, Noche, Manos libres, Verde que te quiero, La caída, Reunión, Tango mortal, La noche). In the period from 1994 to 1997 he created the first episode of the cartoon “Professor Glaucus” for the Chilean television. Worked as Screenwriting and Animation teacher at the Universidad de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales of Santiago de Chile, between 1998 and 2000.
