An Argentine animation legend and a former Grand Jury Prize winner confirmed as jurors for ANIMA2011
Argentine animation legend Oscar Desplats and 31 year old animation film director, Santiago ‘Bou’ Grasso, were both confirmed as two of the three members of the Argentine Jury. Third juror is yet to be announced. As National Jury members, the producer of the 260-episode Argentine tv animation series Mafalda鈥檚 World (1973) and the young director winner of ANIMA’09′s Grand Jury Prize, will decide on the Best Argentine Animation and Special Jury Mentions.

Started as an animator in 1956 at Lowe Productions (Argentina). Along his 50 year prolific career, he produced over seven hours of advertising animation for film and TV. He is responsible for creating, in 1959, the position of Animator and the Animation Categories at the Argentina Film Industry Union (SICA). A founding member of the Argentine Association of Animation Filmmakers (AARCA) in 1977, is nowadays the Director of the Argentina Film Animation Association (AACA).

Born in 1979 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Graduated as Visual Comunication Designer (Fine Arts Faculty, La Plata National University, Argentina). Worked as an animator in several advertising and feature animation films, both in Argentina and overseas. Was twice granted with the National Endowment for the Arts fellowship (Argentina). His short independent animation El empleo (The employement) has been awarded at over one hundred festivals, and won the Grand Jury Prize at ANIMA’09.
