ANIMA2023 – XII Festival Internacional de Animación de Córdoba
Reglamento
I. ORGANIZACIÓN, LUGAR Y FECHAS
ANIMA2023, XIiI Festival Internacional de Animación de Córdoba, es organizado conjuntamente por la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba a través de su Centro Experimental de Animación; el Espacio Curricular Animación de la Universidad Nacional de Villa María; y la Secretaría de Extensión Universitaria de la UNC. Colabora en la organización el Centro de Producción e Investigación en Artes UNC.
ANIMA2023 tendrá lugar en Córdoba, Argentina del 4 al 6 de Octubre de 2022 en forma presencial y en formato virtual a través de Internet.
II. OBJETIVOS
Los objetivos principales del Festival son:
● Favorecer el reconocimiento del arte de la animación en sus múltiples dimensiones: técnicas, estilísticas, como producto social, como bien cultural, etc.
● Generar un espacio de encuentro, reflexión e intercambio entre los distintos sectores que, desde sus respectivas actividades, aportan a esta industria cultural.
● Promover la actualización tecnológica regional.
● Estimular la producción, distribución y exhibición de animación.
● Fomentar instancias de capacitación específicas en el área de animación.
III. SOBRE LOS TRABAJOS
El Festival se encuentra abierto a la exhibición de obras de animación de cualquier técnica, género, temática, formato y soporte (cine, video, televisión, Internet, smartphones, videojuegos, VR, AR, fulldome, etc. ). Especial interés se presta a los trabajos innovadores; y a producciones de estudiantes. La participación es abierta a producciones de cualquier lugar del mundo, con énfasis en América Latina. No existe un límite al número de obras que el participante desee enviar.
No hay costo de inscripción.
Sólo se aceptarán trabajos realizados con posterioridad al 1/1/2021 y que no hayan sido inscriptos en alguna edición anterior del Festival. El Festival en ningún caso abonará derechos de exhibición (screening fees).
Los trabajos deberán inscribirse en una de las siguientes categorías:
Cortometrajes
Animaciones de hasta 30 minutos de duración
Largometrajes y mediometrajes
Animaciones de duración superior a 30 minutos
Animación por encargo
Serie animada para TV o Web
Especial animado de TV o Web
Videoclips Animados
Animación Promocional o Publicitaria
Animación con fines educativos o científicos
Animación para Videojuegos
IV. JURADOS, PREMIOS Y DISTINCIONES
Los organizadores nombrarán Jurados que otorgarán los siguientes Premios y Distinciones oficiales:

Mejor Especial Animado para TV o Web
Mejor Animación de Videoclip
Mejor Animación Promocional o Publicitaria
Mejor Animación de Videojuegos
Mejor Animación con fines educativos o científicos
De considerarlo conveniente, los Jurados podrán otorgar además Menciones Especiales, o declarar desierto algún Premio y/o Distinción. Las decisiones de los Jurados serán inapelables.
Premio Cachoíto
El Premio Cachoíto es otorgado por ANIMA a personalidades o colectivos de la animación argentina, para honrar los logros de su trayectoria o la realización de acciones transformadoras para la comunidad de la animación argentina. Recibe su nombre en honor a Miguel de Lorenzi, quien fuera un importante diseñador y animador de Córdoba.
Premios Independientes
Los Premios Independientes son otorgados por entidades audiovisuales externas al Festival. Su otorgamiento será definido en cada caso por la organización de ANIMA.
V. Proceso de Inscripción
La inscripción se realizará a través de la plataforma Film Freeway, a través del link https://filmfreeway.com/animafestival .
Los idiomas oficiales del Festival son español e inglés. En el caso que su película incluya diálogos en alguna otra lengua, deberá estar subtitulada en alguno de estos idiomas.
ATENCIÓN> A los fines de la preselección, las películas deberán ser accesibles online y en streaming (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). Los videojuegos y animación VR o AR deben estar disponibles a través de un link de descarga. NO ENVÍE UN DVD. NO ENVÍE UN ARCHIVO.
En el caso de series, sólo deberá enviar un capítulo.
VI. SELECCIÓN Y EXHIBICIÓN
Los Organizadores no se comprometen a la difusión de la totalidad del material receptado. La curaduría de las Muestras y su carácter Competitivo o No Competitivo será competencia del Director Artístico, y las decisiones al respecto serán inapelables. Si el participante no desea que su película sea considerada para Muestras No Competitivas, deberá indicarlo marcando el casillero correspondiente en la Ficha de Inscripción.
Todos aquellos autores cuyos trabajos sean seleccionados para la exhibición, tanto en las Categorías Competitivas como en las No Competitivas, recibirán un Certificado digital de Participación en la Muestra, los laureles y el Catálogo del Festival.
Los resultados del proceso de selección serán informados el 31/07/2023.
Si su película fuera seleccionada, le solicitaremos un archivo en alta definición para la proyección, subtítulos en formato .srt, fotografías y demás material para promoción. En el caso de la categoría Animación Inmersiva (VR, AR), también coordinaremos las particularidades para la presentación de la copia. La no presentación de los materiales solicitados en la fecha límite para la que se lo solicite, implicará la inmediata descalificación de la inscripción.
Sugerimos que el envío de estos archivos sea mediante descarga vía Internet. El Festival no pagará en ningún caso tasa alguna ocasionada por el envío de las copias.
Los participantes autorizan al Festival a utilizar fragmentos de las películas seleccionadas (no más del 10% de la duración, y hasta 30 segundos como máximo) con fines de difusión del festival en diversos medios audiovisuales.
VII. ITINERANCIA
La organización podrá exhibir los cortometrajes seleccionados con posterioridad al festival como parte de las Muestras Itinerantes del mismo. Estas exhibiciones podrán ser públicas o privadas y realizarse en cualquier parte del mundo, por el festival o por terceros, pero únicamente en forma gratuita y con fines educativos y/o culturales.
VIII. FECHA LÍMITE
La convocatoria permanecerá abierta hasta el 30 de abril 14 de mayo de 2023.
IX. MENCIONES
Los productores y directores de las películas premiadas se comprometen a mencionar el Premio y el nombre “XIII Festival Internacional de Animación de Córdoba ANIMA2023” en los créditos de su película, sitio web y en toda la documentación relacionada a la misma.
X. ACERCA DE LOS DERECHOS DE AUTOR
Las obras que utilicen imágenes y/o sonidos preexistentes serán aceptadas bajo la responsabilidad del participante, en lo que atañe a derechos originales con respecto a terceros. Los participantes se harán responsables por los reclamos de cualquier naturaleza que terceros pudieran hacer respecto a su aporte en la producción, derechos de autor, de inclusión, de intérpretes, etc.
XI. ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES
Todos los participantes, por el sólo hecho de serlo, aceptan íntegramente estas bases. En caso de cualquier problema no contemplado por las mismas, éste será resuelto por los Organizadores considerando la versión en español del presente reglamento.

Rules and Regulations
I. ORGANIZATION, PLACE AND DATE
ANIMA2023 – XIII Córdoba International Animation Festival is jointly organized by the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) through its Centro Experimental de Animación; the Animation Chair of the Universidad Nacional de Villa María; and the UNC’s Secretaría de Extensión Universitaria. The festival receives support from the Centro de Producción e Investigación en Artes, UNC.
The festival will be held in Córdoba, Argentina, from October 4th through 6th, 2023; both in on-site and online versions.
II. OBJECTIVES
The Festival’s main objectives are:
● To favour the recognition of the art of animation in its many dimensions: technical, stylistic, as a social product, as a cultural asset, etc.
●To generate a meeting point for reflection, encounter and exchange among the different areas that, from their particular activities, contribute to this cultural industry.
● To promote regional technological development.
● To stimulate animation production, distribution and exhibition.
● To promote specific training instances in the field of animation.
III. ABOUT THE ENTRIES
The Festival is open to animation productions of every technique, genre, topic, format and screening media (film, video, television, Internet, smartphones, video games, VR, AR, fulldome, etc.). Special interest is granted to innovative works and also to student productions. Participation is open for productions from all over the world, with emphasis in those from Latin America. There is no limit to the number of entries that a participant can send.
There is no entry fee.
Only animations completed after January 1st 2021 and which have not been entered in former editions of the festival will be accepted. The festival will not pay screening fees in any case.
Films should register under one of the following categories:

Video game animation
Promotional or Advertising Animation
Animation for educational or scientific means

If deemed appropriate, the Juries may also award Special Jury Mentions, or deem vacant any award. All decisions of the Juries are final.
Cachoíto Award
The Cachoíto Award is given away by ANIMA to Argentine animation personalities or collectives, to honor either its lifetime achivements in animation or the undertaking of transformative actions to the Argentine animation community. It receives its name in honor of the late Miguel ‘Cachoíto’ de Lorenzi, who was a groundbreaking designer, animator and educator from Córdoba, Argentina.
Independent Awards
The Independent Awards are awarded by audiovisual entities other from the ANIMA. The granting of these will be defined in each case by the ANIMA organization.
V. ENTRY PROCEDURES
Entries should be registered through Film Freeway’s Platform at https://filmfreeway.com/animafestival
The Festival’s official languages are Spanish and English. If the film has dialogue in another language, the entrant must submit for selection a subtitled copy in either Spanish or English.
PLEASE NOTE> For selection purposes, all films should be accesible online and streaming (YouTube, Vimeo, etc. ) DO NOT SEND A DVD. DO NOT SEND A FILE.
For TV / Web Series, only one chapter should be submitted.
VI. SELECTION AND EXHIBITION
The Organizers do not compromise to screen the total number of entries. Curatorship of the programs and their qualification as Competitive or Non Competitive will be of competence of the Artistic Director, and decisions on this respect will be final. If the entrant does not want the film to be considered for Non Competitive programs, it should indicate so in the space provided in the Entry Form.
Those whose entries have been selected for exhibition – either for Competitive or Non-Competitive categories – will receive a digital Certificate of Participation in the Festival, the Festival’s Laurels and Catalogue.
The outcome of the selection process will be informed on July 31st, 2023.
If your film is selected, we will contact you and ask you for a high definition file for projection, subtitles in .srt format, photographs and other promotional materials. In case of the Immersive Animation (VR, AR) category, we will also coordinate the particulars of submission and screening/presentation of the copy.
Failure to provide any of the requested materials on the requested deadline will automatically disqualify the entry.
We strongly recommend that those files are also sent as an Internet download. The Festival will not pay, in any case, any fees from the mailing of the entries.
The entrants authorize the Festival to use fragments of the selected entries (no more than 10% of their running time, up to 30 seconds maximum) for publicity purposes on diverse audiovisual platforms.
VII. OTHER SCREENINGS
The organizers may exhibit the selected short films after the festival as part of touring exhibition programs. These screenings may be public or private, and be held anywhere in the world by the festival itself or by third parties, but only with free admittance and on cultural or educational purposes.
VIII. DEADLINE
Registration will be open until April 30th, May 14th 2023
IX. MENTIONS
The entrants of the award-winning films at ANIMA2022 should mention the award and the text “XIII Córdoba International Animation Festival ANIMA2022” in the credits of their film, website and on all related documentation.
X. ABOUT COPYRIGHT ISSUES
Works which use pre-existent images or sound will be accepted under the entrant’s responsibility in which respects to third party’s copyright. The entrants will be responsible for claims of any nature that third parties might perform in respect to production credits, copyright, inclusion rights, performers’ rights, etc.
XI. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS
All participants, just by sending an entry to the Festival, fully accept these Rules and Regulations. Should any problem arise, it will be solved by the Organizers considering the Spanish version of these Rules and Regulations.
